Elementary School Counselor

Miss Kistowski (known as Miss K. by students), serves all students in pre-K-sixth grade at Remsen Elementary School. This is her fifth year as a school counselor and her fourth year at Remsen. She earned her M.S. and C.A.S. in Professional School Counseling from Russell Sage College and her B.A. in Psychology from SUNY Polytechnic Institute. She has also earned specialist certifications in anxiety & stress management, mental health, career development, students with special needs, closing the achievement gap, legal and ethical through the American School Counselor Association. Miss K. loves her role as a school counselor because she is able to watch students grow every year and help them become successful. In her free time, Miss K. enjoys hiking, kayaking, relaxing on the beach and spending time with family and friends.
