Welcome

It is so hard to believe that December is upon us.  These first few months of school have gone by with extreme speed!  As I begin my second year as your Remsen Elementary Principal, I reflect on how truly grateful I am for this opportunity.  Each of your students make a difference in my day and I appreciate them all!

During the first few months of school we have been extremely fortunate to participate in so many exciting events.  During the month of September we hosted Welcome Back to School Night.  It was a packed house full of smiling faces and amazing families!  Our sixth graders attended Conservation Day at Delta Lake and Mrs. Manley and I were able to visit classrooms to welcome everyone back to school.  October brought a visit from Mr. McDonald who talked to our students about Fire Safety.  Our 4th through 6th grade students enjoyed a Fall Dance sponsored by the PTG on October 3rd.  They enjoyed treats, dancing, and karaoke.  Our clubs and extracurricular activities started in full swing and the PTG hosted a Fall Fun Fest in the park on October 17th.  The month ended with a Halloween Costume Parade with all of our students pre-kindergarten through sixth grade.  In November we were able to honor our Veterans with an outstanding concert provided by the whole student body.  Our first quarter report cards went home and our elementary families were able to meet with their students’ teachers.  November culminated with a Thanksgiving break for students and staff.  I hope you were all able to enjoy time with family and friends during the Thanksgiving holiday!

December will bring with it lots of wonder and joy as we experience the holiday season in full swing!  Students will perform during our Holiday Concert and celebrate with several festivities within their classroom.  During this Holiday Season take time to enjoy the little things, look at the lights, listen to the music, and enjoy the company of the people around you.  I wish you all a magical holiday!  Thank you for allowing me to be part of your family!
