Welcome
Mrs. Jody Lamphere
Happy Spring! I hope that you and your families have been able to get outside and enjoy some of the nice weather when we have had it. I have no idea how we are starting the final quarter of the school year already. This year has already been an exciting one for me. I have gotten to know each one of your students and it is a true pleasure to work with them every day.
The months since our last newsletter have been busy here at Remsen Elementary. February and March were filled with various opportunities for our students. During the month of February we celebrated our students at our Quarter 2 Evening of Excellence and enjoyed our Elementary Drama Club’s production of “Twice Upon A Time.” Families were invited in to enjoy activities with their students at various grade levels. The Rotary delivered a dictionary for each of our third grade students and discussed what Rotary is all about. We also celebrated the hundredth day of school together.
March was an even busier month. We kicked off our One School, One Book reading of The Chocolate Touch. On April 11th we came back together to celebrate with a fun-filled finale. Ms. Kistowski, Easton, two of our fifth graders, and I attended a BOCES Showcase to inform schools on the benefits of a therapy dog. Our third graders performed a wonderful recorder recital. The fourth through sixth graders were treated to a dance put on by the PTG. There were smiling faces all night long. Students in grades 4 through 12 came together to perform a Music In Our Schools Month Concert for the community that was absolutely brilliant.
We are so fortunate at Remsen to be able to offer so many amazing programs for our students. There are so many opportunities to enjoy a wide variety of activities, clubs, sports, etc. As we embark on these last few months of the 2024-2025 school year, please look for notifications for all of the upcoming events. A strong school and family relationship is essential to the success of our students.
Thank you to all of you for supporting our school and our students. We are fortunate to have such an amazing community to share our school with. I am blessed every day to be able to walk into this school and to be part of it. Remsen truly is the place to be!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Jody M. Lamphere
