Welcome
Mrs. Jody Lamphere
I hope this message finds you well and enjoying the winter months and snow with your family. It is hard to believe but we have started the third quarter of the 2024-2025 school year! Getting to know all of the students and families in the Remsen School District over these last few months has been an absolute pleasure. Thank you for all you do each and every day to support your student(s) and our school.
December and January were very busy months in the elementary school. The PTG held their Sneaky Santa Shop which allowed very excited children to shop for gifts for family members. Students in grades kindergarten through fifth had opportunities to visit The Stanley Theatre for field trips. We were treated to two holiday concerts put on by the pre-kindergarten through fourth graders and then the fifth through twelfth graders. The fourth grade classes made cards and sang Christmas carols to the residents of Sitrin. The residents and students truly enjoyed this experience! We held our second Family Night, partnering with Cornell Cooperative Extension to bring families information on Social Media Safety.
As an elementary school we are working on ways to invite families into our school for a presentation, game day, or some way in which to get parents involved in our daily school activities. It is most important that we do this in a safe and organized way. The third grade classes invited parents in before Christmas to enjoy a Reader’s Theater presentation. Other grade levels will be reaching out to invite parents in for an activity. Thank you to all of our families for wanting to be involved in your child’s education!
February and March will continue to be busy here at Remsen Elementary. Please be on the lookout for notifications or letters sent home about the various events that will be occurring throughout these two months.
Pre-kindergarten and kindergarten registration opened on January 6, 2025. Packets can be picked up, filled out, and returned to the main office anytime in the coming weeks. If you need more information or have questions please contact the main office.
One of the highlights of my day is being able to visit classrooms where students are learning. The students in our classrooms are always eager to learn and try their best. There is nothing that makes me happier than seeing a student who is enthusiastic and interested in what they are learning. We are lucky here at Remsen to have such outstanding students, faculty, staff, families, and community members. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your Remsen family. Remsen truly is the place to be!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Jody M. Lamphere
