Welcome

It is hard to believe that we are already welcoming in March.  I’m not sure how the school year has gone by so quickly!  As we embark on these last 80 or so days of the 2025-2026 school year, please be reminded of how grateful I am to be part of your Remsen community.

The last month has been challenging for our students, staff, and entire community as we worked through a tragic event.  I was truly amazed at the outpouring of support from our neighboring school districts, from staff who were there for our students, from students who were there for each other, and from the community as a whole.  There is truly no place I would rather be!

Throughout the months of December, January, and February we remained very busy in the elementary school.  Students celebrated the wonders of the holidays together with a Holiday Concert, the Sneaky Santa Shop, the Santa Trolley, classroom parties, a Holiday Spirit Week, and a visit from Santa himself.  It was a wondrous month full of excitement!

January brought with it the opening of pre-kindergarten and kindergarten registration.  Packets were picked up and should be returned before March 13, 2026.  We held a Winter Spirit Week with lots of participation and fun.  Second quarter report cards were sent home as well.

During the month of February we were able to celebrate our Second Quarter Evening of Excellence Award winners.  The faculty/staff held an Underground Spirit Week in which we kept the students guessing as to what we may be wearing the next school day.  Our Winter Break was held during the week of February 16th which gave everyone a chance to relax and reset.

We are back in full swing and have many exciting events coming up in March.  Our elementary school will be reading Mr. Popper’s Penguins and participating in several events that go along with the book.  March 20th will be a day off for students as our faculty/staff participate in various training opportunities.  It is also Music In Our Schools Month which culminates with an amazing schoolwide concert on March 25th!  Please be on the lookout for announcements about these exciting events.

As we begin the second half of the school year, please know that your students are the most important part of my day.  If you need anything or have questions please reach out at any time.
