It is amazing how quickly time passes. In just a few short weeks, the halls and classrooms of the elementary school will be full and alive with the excitement and energy of our faculty, staff and students. It seems like just yesterday, we were lining the front walkway to wave goodbye and wish all of our students a safe and enjoyable summer vacation. Now, here we are getting ready to welcome students back, once again, for another excellent year at Remsen Elementary School.

Over the last few weeks, a great deal of work has been done to prepare for our opening day in the fall. If you have had the opportunity to drive by the school lately, you will have noticed that the work being done in both buildings and around the campus is quite extensive. By the time the work is done, the elementary school will have a new front walkway and bus loop, a new roof, updated lighting and heating throughout the building, as well as other enhancements. In addition to the physical work being done, we have a few changes to staff including our new elementary school office secretary, Ms. Amanda Kerr and the movement of Ms. McCormack into her new role as a teaching assistant.

It will be exciting to see how these changes, along with the curriculum work and planning that is being done over the summer, provide the students of Remsen Elementary School with an improved school experience and greater opportunities for learning and growth. As we prepare for the new school year, it is our goal to provide students with a quality learning experience in a safe and enjoyable environment. We thank you very much for your support of and commitment to the students and staff of Remsen Elementary School.

I am very much looking forward to the start of another great school year. To get our new school year started, we will be having our Back to School night on Wednesday, September 4 at 6:00 p.m. in the elementary school and 7:00 p.m. in the Jr./Sr. high school. More information about this event will be provided as the date approaches. The first day of school for students will be on Thursday, September 5. As always, if you have any comments, questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out. It is only in working together, that we will be able to provide the best for the students of Remsen Elementary School.
