My name is Mrs. Carina Mettelman! I am thrilled to be a third grade teacher here at Remsen Elementary School! When I first joined the Remsen family, I taught first grade for a few years. Before I began teaching in Remsen, I taught first grade for four years at Annsville Elementary School in Camden. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from SUNY Cortland in Early Childhood and Childhood Education and my Masters Degree in Child & Adolescent Development. Teaching young children has always been a passion of mine and I am so happy to be a Remsen Ram! 

I love to be active with my family and friends. My husband and I enjoy playing competitive volleyball together and competing in CrossFit. Staying healthy and active is an important part of our daily lives! I also coach the Modified Girls Volleyball team here at Remsen. Coaching this team is the perfect way to combine my passion for teaching our youth with my passion for playing volleyball.

We have two awesome Labrador Retrievers at home! Otto, who is a six year old Black Lab, and Murphy who is a Chocolate Lab puppy. They love to go on walks/runs with us, swim at the lake, and play fetch as much as possible. I can’t wait to share all my adventures with you and have a terrific third grade year!
