Mr. VanWormer (Interim Principal)

It will be exciting to have students back in our classrooms and once again have our hallways filled with energy and enthusiasm for learning. When students return to campus for the first day of school they will become part of the Remsen culture of excellence where we strive to challenge each student to grow in their academic abilities and to be college and career ready by the time they graduate. Remsen students and staff continually represent our school with pride and excellence across the spectrum in the areas of academics, arts, activities and athletics.

Remsen Jr./Sr. High School was recently recognized by U.S. News and World Report with a Silver Medal ranking as one of America’s Best High Schools. Remsen High School ranks in the top tier of eligible public high schools in the United States. Remsen Jr./Sr. High School ranked 1,940th out of more than 20,500 public schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia. Remsen was also named as a high performing school at the state level, being ranked 171st out of 1,257 eligible schools in New York. Schools are ranked on overall performance on state tests, demographics, graduation rate and scores on college-level AP tests. This recognition is evidence of our strong academic programs, dedicated teachers and outstanding students that consistently outperform their state and national counterparts on AP and NYS Regents exams. We are proud of our students’ accomplishments and one of many sources of our Remsen Pride!

Remsen Jr./Sr. High School is home to a wide array of programs and activities that provide all students with opportunities to reach their post-secondary goals. With some of these opportunities comes some inconvenience. The Capital Project that started this summer will mean ongoing construction during the school year. Several of our classrooms have been temporarily relocated. Once the new rooms are completed, our family and consumer science, art, technology and agriculture programs will have state-of-the-art spaces for learning.

It is truly a privilege to be a part of a community where parents, teachers and students care for each other and strive to build positive relationships that support academic and social growth. Please feel free to contact the high school at 315.205.4300.

Once again, welcome back! Let’s make it another great year!
