About the CSE Chairperson

Fay Harper

CSE Chairperson, School Psychologist

Welcome! My name is Fay Harper and I have had the privilege to work with Remsen students for the past thirteen years in many, varied roles. I received my Bachelors from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY and my Masters in Education as well as Certificate of Advanced Studies from City University of New York’s Brooklyn College in Brooklyn, NY. I fill the role of New York State Certified School Psychologist for the Remsen Central School District as well as serving as the Committee on Special Education Chairperson and Committee on Preschool Special Education Chairperson.

My greatest joy is discovering student’s unique learning styles and finding ways to play to their strengths. I have been lucky enough to work with students aged three to twenty one years of age. The challenges created in education as we try to meet the needs of students makes my job exciting and different every day. I enjoy watching students become contributing members of society and am always thrilled to hear how graduates are succeeding in their endeavors after high school.

I am happy to be part of a school community that values social-emotional growth. Being part of the PeaceBuilder program at the Elementary School and an advisor for the Peer Leadership group in the Junior/Senior High School is always rewarding. Remsen students never cease to amaze me with their capacity for empathy and excellent character development.

Watching student-athletes excel in and out of the classroom is my favorite past time. Some of my greatest accomplishments have been through coaching Remsen athletes. Regardless of ability level, I am proud to be part of students creating healthy lifestyle habits and pushing themselves beyond what they thought they were capable of.
