Superintendent's Message

  • Dear Remsen Families:

Success begins with a strong foundation. When I graduated from the Remsen Central School District, I was prepared to accomplish anything I set my mind to. I could not have asked for better teachers or a better school. Remsen gave me the building blocks to go on and earn multiple degrees, lead a successful career in education and understand the importance of hard work.

Becoming your new Superintendent is very exciting. I love Remsen. I was born and raised in Remsen. My wife and I are raising our son here. We plan to grow old here. Remsen is a very special place. It is a district where working together and understanding each student as an individual is not only articulated, it actually happens. A beautiful campus that provides countless opportunities for students, parents and community members is something we can all be very proud of.

As your new Superintendent, I plan to work with everyone to ensure that our students continue to learn and appreciate the importance of kindness, integrity, motivation, hard work and perseverance. These characteristics all but guarantee a happy, healthy, successful life.

When I first started my career in education as a high school mathematics teacher, I created a message that I posted in my classroom, on student assignments and on their tests. I announced it to my students every day to encourage and support them. I continued this message in my next math classroom and then spread the message building-wide when I became the principal. My message was to always “soar to success.”

Now, as your superintendent, I plan to spread the message to all of our students, staff and community members in Remsen. This message combines my love of flight, my desire to help students and staff do great things and my belief that every person needs to know that we genuinely want to see them succeed in all that they do. The message is simple, but significant. It is easy to remember and hard to forget. It will motivate and inspire students and adults to be great people and to do great things.

I am excited to work with RCS students, staff, community members and the Board of Education to help ensure that Remsen Central School continues to “soar to success.”

It is an honor and a privilege to be your Superintendent. I look forward to a great school year!
