The Remsen modified cross country teams raced at the Whitesboro XC Invitational on October 6 at Deerfield Wilderness Park. The girls were led by Julia Dening finished at an impressive 9:54, good for 3rd place. Grace Shuflet placed 14th with a time of 10:34. The competing teams included many size A schools and 168 race finishers. In the boys race, Benjamin Staskoski placed 66th, Taylor Hollenbeck finished 143rd and Noah Skermont finished 166th in a field of 213 runners.
The Remsen varsity cross country teams also competed during the holiday weekend at the 48th Annual Saint Anthony's High School Cross Country Invitational at Suken Meadow State Park in Long Island. The boys team was led by Michael Roberts who finished 62nd in the field of 392 runners on the very challenging course. The girls team finished 14th in the Varsity 1 race which had more than 30 teams of all sizes and 344 runners participating. Jade Dening medaled placing 8th, while Brynne Myers finished 27th, Kendall Decker placed 113th, Jenn Roberts placed 203rd and Emma Skermont placed 210th. The teams race again on Wednesday, October 10 in their last league meet where the girls plan to remain undefeated in league competition.
