Technology 8 CO2 Cars
-
Students in Ms. DiNitto’s Technology 8 class recently raced the CO2 dragsters they had designed and built in class. Each student was required to complete a list of steps culminating in building their design to specifications. The miniature racing cars were propelled by a carbon dioxide cartridge, pierced to start the release of the gas. The CO2 dragster project gives students hands-on experience with mechanical principles such as mass, force, acceleration and aerodynamics.
The top three finishers were Lyle Pett with a time of 1.314, Nate Diaz with a time of 1.41 and Brandon Crowell with a time of 1.496.
