Trooper Kevin Conners and his K-9 partner Schini and Trooper Travis Bauer and his K-9 partner Hugh visited Mrs. Spatto’s pre-K class at Remsen Elementary on March 6.

The pre-K class just finished up a unit on community helpers and they talked a lot about safety. Trooper Conners and Trooper Bauer came to the class to make the students feel comfortable around law enforcement. The K-9 partners helped bridge that fear, so students wouldn’t be afraid to approach an officer to ask for help.

The officers talked to the students about what each dog’s job is and the students participated in a search.
