Remsen Central School 

  6th GRADE STUDENTS MUST HAVE THE CHICKENPOX IMMUNIZATION OR PHYSICIAN'S VERIFICATION THAT THEY HAVE HAD THE DISEASE and a Tdap IMMUNIZATION PRIOR TO ENTRY INTO 6TH GRADE. THIS IS A NEW YORK STATE LAW ! REGISTERING YOUR CHILD FOR SCHOOL

Registration for all new students occurs at the District office in the Elementary building for all PK-12 students. Hours for registration are from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. To ensure that someone will be able to assist you, please call before visiting (831.3797). Parents/guardians may enroll their children for school at any time during the school year.

Remsen Central residents may enroll in Remsen Central Schools. You must have proof of residency in order to enroll your child. If you do not know whether your residence is within the Remsen Central School district boundaries contact the Remsen CS Transporation Department at 831.3797 ext. 244.

The following documentation is required to register your child:

*Your child's original birth certificate or passport

*Your child's official immunization record ( signed by physician or clinic staff)

*Custody papers, if applicable. ( If the student is not your biological child you must present documentation that proves a permanent and total transfer of custody and control has been achieved.)

*Proof of residency within the school district that includes the name and address of the parent or guardian and are dated within the previous 30 days. (Examples - Homeowner's insurance policy, Auto insurance policy, telephone bill, cable tv bill, Niagara Mohawk bill, legal and valid lease agreement, home purchase contract)

Academic records, incuding transcripts, recent report cards and any special education plan should be presented at the time of registration. Please bring the name and mailing address of your child's previous school to registration.

Kindergarten registration:

Kindergarten registration is held at theDistrict office during March of each year for students entering kindergarten in the fall. To register children must be five (5) years old by December 1 of the calendar year in which they begin kindergarten.

Kindergarten registration information will be mailed in February each year to any eligible families currently in the district database. If your child is eligible for kindergarten and you have not received information by the end of of February, please call the District office (831.3797).
